COCC organizes drone training for blue carbon workshop

On 8 January 2025, the Coastal Oceanography and Climate Change Research Center (COCC) organized a workshop entitled “Drone Training for Blue Carbon Workshop”, with the participation of students, researchers, and professors.

The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in the use of drone technology for supporting Blue Carbon research, particularly in coastal and marine ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrass meadows, and other carbon-sequestering habitats. The training covered both theoretical concepts and hands-on practice, emphasizing the application of drones for data collection, environmental monitoring, and research efficiency.

This activity reflects COCC’s commitment to capacity building and the integration of innovative technologies into environmental research, while strengthening collaboration among students, researchers, and academic staff in advancing Blue Carbon and climate change studies.
