The grand opening of the “Ocean Warming” exhibition was held by Coastal Oceanography and Climate Change Research Center (COCC),10 October 2019, at Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum, Prince of SongKla University (PSU). We are honored to have a Deputy Director for Science and Technology, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Suppasil Maneerat, to give the opening remark at this event. Together with a director of Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center, Lower Gulf of Thailand (MCRRDL); the board of directors from Marine and Coastal Resources Institute (MACORIN), Faculty of Science, Faculty of Environmental Management, Faculty of Natural Resources, and Faculty of Medical Technology, PSU; and Prof. Dr. Saowapa Angsupanich were attended the event.
There was a talk about climate change and the marine ecosystem in the global Scale, given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suchana Chavanich (Deputy Managing Director of Chula Unisearch and professor at the Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University).
Another talk was about climate change in Thailand and the role of COCC in terms of being a leader in researching climate change impacts on coastal ecosystems. This topic was given by three of COCC’s researchers – Asst.Prof.Dr. Pimchanok Buapet (Faculty of Science, PSU, and a director of COCC); Dr. Sutinee Sinutok (Faculty of Environmental Management, PSU); Dr. Mathinee Yucharoen (Marine and Coastal Resources Institute,PSU).


At the end of the event, participants, as well as mass media, visited the “Ocean Warming” exhibition. The COCC tumbler, COCC Pinto (Thai traditional lunch box), and COCC postcards (created by Prof. Dr. Saowapa Angsupanich) were sold at the exhibition.
