COCC strengthens regional marine research collaboration through SEAMaRS in Singapore

From 5–7 October 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mathinee Yucharoen, representing the Coastal Oceanography and Climate Change Research Center (COCC), participated in the Southeast Asia Marine Research Stations Network (SEAMaRS) in Singapore.

During the event, she presented COCC’s research capabilities, facilities, and scientific equipment, highlighting the center’s laboratory-based and field research activities in marine and coastal science. The presentation provided an opportunity to introduce COCC’s expertise to the regional research community and explore potential areas for academic collaboration.

The discussions also focused on opportunities to share research resources and strengthen connections among marine research institutions. Such collaboration can help researchers exchange knowledge, make better use of available facilities and expertise, and develop new opportunities for joint research.

COCC’s participation in SEAMaRS represents a step toward deeper engagement with regional research networks and greater cooperation among marine science institutions across Southeast Asia. By building these connections, COCC aims to contribute to collaborative efforts that advance marine research and improve understanding of the region’s coastal and ocean environments
