NUS professor delivers special lecture at COCC

During his visit, researchers and research assistants from COCC, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siriporn Pradit and Asst. Prof. Dr. Prakrit Noppradit, welcomed Prof. Lu and accompanied him on field visits to significant natural and cultural sites in southern Thailand.

On 6 September 2025, the delegation visited Thale Noi Wetland in Phatthalung Province to observe its ecological characteristics, biodiversity, and local livelihoods, including traditional fisheries and rice cultivation within the lake system—demonstrating the close relationship between community and environment.

On 8 September 2025, the group explored Khao Kho Hong Viewpoint in Songkhla Province, followed by visits to the Ban Hua Khao Daeng Mangrove Learning Center to study coastal resource conservation practices, and the Thaksin Folklore Museum to gain insights into the cultural heritage and history of southern Thailand.

The visit strengthened academic exchange between institutions and reinforced the research center’s commitment to integrating scientific research, environmental stewardship, and cultural understanding in advancing sustainable coastal development.
