Following the training session, the research team carried out a series of field activities at the coral reefs surrounding Kham Island, Thepha District, Songkhla Province. These activities included monitoring coral spawning events, collecting seawater quality data, and deploying drifting buoys to track local water current patterns. The field observations will contribute to a better understanding of the environmental conditions associated with coral reproductive events and larval dispersal.

The fieldwork was conducted in collaboration with the Khao Pra Chang–Laem Kham Non-Hunting Area, the Lower Gulf of Thailand Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center, and the Office of Marine and Coastal Resources Region 5. The collaboration reflects the importance of partnerships among academic institutions, government agencies, and local conservation networks in advancing marine scientific research and promoting the sustainable management of Thailand’s coastal ecosystems.

Through this initiative, COCC continues to support research-based conservation while encouraging active participation from local communities and partner organizations in protecting valuable coral reef ecosystems for future generations.
